On 19 January 1870 Clara Schumann played the inaugural concert of the Small Hall of the then new Musikverein building in Vienna, now known around the world as "Brahms-Saal". The Streicher piano on this recording is the very instrument that was used for the occasion and is now in the possession of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.
